Atkinson's Tarn
This is our own coarse fishery in a lovely setting between Kendal and Bowness. Atkinson's Tarn is well set out and well stocked with all sorts of fish. Carp, tench, roach, bream and rudd. Even a few eels!
It is our special venue for juniors and this year will see a brand new fishing lodge on site- somewhere to go when it rains! There will also be toilets on site over the summer making it the perfect place for a days fishing.
Most of our coarse fishing events take place during June , July and August and if you are a WADAA member you can fish whenever you like. A great place to spend the school holidays!
There are also a number of supervised days for all SCK members as follows. See 2009 Events for dates
How to find Atkinson's Tarn. Take the road from Kendal to Bowness, passing through Crook village. About a mile further you come to Crook Church, turn left here and follow the lane for about half a mile to the first house. Turn right down the gravel track immediately after the house and follow this down to the fishery.
